MedSurvey (formerly Ricca) has been involved in providing medical market research services for over 40 years. In that time, we have evolved as a company and merged our extensive experience in recruiting healthcare survey respondents with our passion for technological innovation. We welcome you to read through our history below to learn more about us and our evolution.
Sharon Ricca gets her start in market research as an independent contractor conducting door-to-door in-person surveys on behalf of a few small local research companies. Ricca Research is officially open for business.
Having always had a passion for the healthcare field and recognizing the industry’s need for reliable medical data collection, Sharon decides to focus Ricca Research solely on conducting medical market research.
As the need for medical market research expands beyond in-person to nationwide telephone surveys, Ricca Research makes its first hires. Having no office at this time, everybody works out of Sharon’s home.
The word about Ricca Research starts to spread and many local companies take notice. Shortly, the Ricca team doubles to 8 employees which makes working from Sharon’s home a bit impractical. Ricca Research moves into its first official office in Warminster, PA.
After almost a decade of growth, the team expands to over 15 employees, and it is time to move again. Ricca Research purchases its second office in Southampton, PA. The larger office space comfortably accommodates the entire staff while still allowing room for growth.
Ricca Group is incorporated as a sister company to Ricca Research to focus on the growing need for computer-assisted medical market research. The new venture is co-founded by Sharon Ricca and two of her former tech-oriented employees, Paul Golota and Gary Dann, to leverage the experience and relationships Ricca Research has built over the past quarter century while applying state-of-the-art technology.
As the need for web-based market research grows, Ricca Group adds employees and outgrows the office it shares with Ricca Research. In April 2004, Ricca Group moves its team of 7 to its first official office in Feasterville, PA.
By the end of the decade, the shift to web-based surveys and computer assisted telephone interviews created a lot of growth for Ricca Group, but also caused a sharp drop in demand for paper-and-pencil surveys. After 32 years in business, Ricca Research, our sister company, ceased operations and closed its doors.
The demand for quality web-based survey data and quality healthcare survey respondents continues to grow. Ricca Group adds new employees and invests heavily into engineering innovative web-based tools for collecting and analyzing survey data. With need for more space, Ricca Group secures a larger office space for its 12 employees in Southampton, PA with plenty of room to grow.
Ricca Group is rebranded and changes its name to MedSurvey. The new name better reflects the company’s commitment to and sole focus on medical and pharmaceutical market research. Paul Golota, a Co-Founder and Executive Vice President at MedSurvey is named the new CEO. The company grows to over 25 employees and secures more office space with a completely fresh layout and room to grow.
